Regardless of gender, all athletes are athletes. They are born with a natural drive that craves challenges, high standards, seemingly impossible goals, and a competitiveness that permeates everything they do. - Valorie Kondos Field

These women have boldly challenged outdated notions and broken stigmas, persevered despite health challenges, achieved world records and paved the way for others.

I became the first woman to hold the position of General Manager of a football club in Turkey, and probably one of the first in the world, when I was appointed at Galatasaray S.K in 2000. This was a groundbreaking achievement in a traditionally male-dominated field and set a precedent for future female leaders in sports. - Ebru Köksal

Disruptors: Women In Sports features women such as Eniola Aluko MBE, Eilish McColgan, Jordyn Weiber Brooks, Charlie Martin, Eartha Pond, Valorie Kondos Field, Asha Philip OLY, Anne Wafula Strike MBE, Donna Fraser OBE, Eboni Usoro-Brown and many more brilliant women.

Sports have always been a vibrant thread in the tapestry of our lives, bringing us together and shaping our culture. Women in sports have fought tirelessly for recognition and equality. Though their achievements are gaining traction today, it’s the relentless work of countless women over the years across diverse backgrounds that have fueled this progress.

There has been a lot of positive change recently in women’s sports, but we are still a long way from equality. There needs to be more opportunities for females in sports across all levels, including in sports business, journalism, and other areas not spoken about in the media. - Lynsey Lockey
I was told that I was fast despite my brownness. These experiences are the reason that I take my job as a sports journalist so seriously. I think it’s easy to underestimate our power as media and what we can do as storytellers to represent people who don’t often feel seen. - Miriam Walker-Khan

Let these stories fuel your passion and embolden you to challenge the limits — whatever your arena might be.
